Financial assistance for converting to dual energy
Financial assistance for converting a natural gas heating system to a dual energy system
If you use natural gas to heat your home, you may be eligible for financial assistance to convert a central natural gas system to a dual-energy heating system (electricity and natural gas).
Advantages of dual energy
Heating with dual energy means using electricity and natural gas alternately to heat your home.
A dual-energy heating system uses electricity as the main energy source about 70% of the time. During cold weather (−12°C and below), the natural gas heating system takes over.
By choosing dual energy, you help reduce your greenhouse gas emissions and make better use of energy during cold snaps.
With a dual-energy heating system, you may also benefit from a more advantageous electricity rate from Hydro-Québec (Rate DT).
Eligible clients
The following types of homes are eligible:
Single-family home (detached, semi-detached or row house, or mobile home)
Duplex
Triplex
Multiple-unit residential building
The home must be heated with natural gas before the work begins.
