Under the Programme de sélection des travailleurs qualifiés (Skilled Worker Selection Program), your main occupation is the one you wish to practise in Québec. It corresponds to an occupation in the National Occupational Classification (NOC) designated by a 5-digit code.
The NOC is Canada's national system for describing and classifying occupations. It comprises 516 occupations, each associated with a 5-digit NOC code, and describes all of the occupations on the labour market

Step 1
Visit the Qualifications Québec website to find the NOC code corresponding to your main occupation. Locate the NOC codes that seem to relate to your main occupation, and read the general description of these codes carefully. If you've performed most of the duties listed in the general description of a NOC code, this indicates that it's related to your main occupation. So find the NOC code that most closely matches your occupation, make a note of it and come back to this page. Be sure to read all the other information on the code, too, as some professions are regulated in Quebec.
Make sure you're familiar with the regulatory framework that applies to your professional situation, if any.
Step 2
Enter the NOC code for your occupation in the search tool
