Through the Secretariat for Relations with English-Speaking Quebecers, the Community Health and Social Services Network will be receiving $2.7 million in financial assistance over a three-year period to implement a Wellness Centres program for English-speaking seniors.

This assistance will consolidate the funding of the 43 existing institutions in the province and be used to establish 32 new centres in more remote regions of Québec, such as the Gaspésie and the Côte-Nord, as well as certain parts of the Estrie and the Outaouais.

Modelled on Québec’s existing day centres for seniors, these community wellness centres will offer a variety of activities, services and educational programs for seniors to promote health, prevent health problems and reduce social isolation.
