QUÉBEC CITY, Jan. 17, 2023 /CNW Telbec/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:
- 651 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,296,207*;
- 16 new deaths, for a total of 17,827 deaths, i.e.;
- 4 deaths in the last 24 hours,
- 11 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
- 1 death that occurred more than seven days ago;
NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.
- 2,143 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
- 1,897 hospitalizations, including 616 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 49 compared to the previous day;
- 238 new entries,
- 287 new discharges;
- 56 people in intensive care, including 30 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 6 compared to the previous day;
- 15 new entries,
- 9 new discharges;
- 6,935 samples conducted on January 15;
- 321,810 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 271,437 positive: 36 declared for yesterday, including 27 positive.
*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.
Vaccination
- 2,966 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,836,941 doses received by Quebecers.
