COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, Feb. 14, 2023  /CNW/ - The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 580 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,309,588*;
• 9 new deaths, for a total of 18,030 deaths, i.e.;
• 1 death in the last 24 hours,
• 7 deaths that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 1 death that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 1,985 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,311 hospitalizations, including 411 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 16 compared to the previous day;
• 182 new entries,
• 198 new discharges;
• 35 people in intensive care, including 20 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 5 compared to the previous day;
• 13 new entries,
• 8 new discharges;
• 6,162 samples conducted on February 12;
• 324,002 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 273,385 positive: 65 declared for yesterday, including 56 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

• 770 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 22,903,623 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
