MONTRÉAL, Feb. 27, 2018 /CNW Telbec/ - Since the exhibition Leonard Cohen : Une brèche en toute chose / A Crack in Everything opened at the Musée d'art contemporain de Montréal last November 9, more than 200,000 visitors have come through our doors to see the show, which has become one of the biggest successes in the museum's recent history. This attendance figure also sets a record for a single exhibition at the Musée. Until this coming April 9, the words, music and life of Leonard Cohen will live on at the MAC. A major catalogue on the exhibition - the 400th published by the MAC since it was founded in 1964 - is also available for purchase now at the MAC Boutique and on the Musée website. Presented by CBC/Radio-Canada, the exhibition Leonard Cohen : Une brèche en toute chose / A Crack in Everything is part of the official program of events for Montréal's 375th anniversary.

MAKE THE EXPERIENCE LAST WITH THE EXHIBITION CATALOGUE
This visually striking publication, situated between monograph and devotional exercise, documents a unique exhibition and pays homage to Leonard Cohen's enormous cultural influence. The artists from around the world taking part in the exhibition revisit Cohen's words, songs and biography. The catalogue also contains artist statements by each of the forty participants in the show, in addition to essays by co-curators John Zeppetelli, Director and Chief Curator of the MAC, and Victor Shiffman, guest curator at the MAC, who detail the two years of work leading up to the exhibition opening. Cohen's biographer Sylvie Simmons and author Chantal Ringuet round out the publication with essays providing an overview of Cohen's career and major moments in his life.

Victor Shiffman, co-curator of the exhibition, works in the arts as a producer, presenter and programmer, and was a founding VP at Montréal's Centre Phi. Sylvie Simmons is the author of the highly praised I'm Your Man: The Life of Leonard Cohen (2015). Chantal Ringuet is the author of Les révolutions de Leonard Cohen, recipient of the Canadian Jewish Literary Award (2017).
