Do you like to plan ahead? Want to avoid problems for your loved ones by letting them know your wishes and preferences ahead of time? If you answered yes, the next question is: mandate or will? These documents aren’t actually interchangeable; each one has a specific purpose and applies to different areas of a person’s life.

A will contains the expression of your final wishes and takes effect only after your death, while a protection mandate contains instructions for the people close to you while you’re still alive.
