Can a represented person prepare a will? Is it possible to indicate the type of end-of-life care desired in the event of incapacity? What happens when someone subject to a protection measure dies? Is it possible to name a tutor for one’s children in the event of death?

The answers to these and other questions can be found in the new edition of the What to Do in the Event of Death guide (PDF 1.19 Mb), which the Curateur public du Québec has helped draft for a number of years now. This document, in addition to comprising a wide array of information, offers citizens advice on the steps to take prior to or at the time of a loved one’s death.

You can obtain an electronic version of the guide under the Death tab of the Family and support for individuals section of the page Quebec.ca. A paper version of the guide can be obtained at Services Québec offices or by calling 1 877 6444545. The paper version is also sold on the site Publications Québec.
