The Curateur public du Québec has read the report by the Québec Ombudsman regarding the supervision of private protection regimes. The Curateur public agrees with the findings, as they are consistent with the rollout of its action plan for a broad overhaul of private representation services (in French) (PDF 0.95 Mb).
The Curateur public has already committed to improving its practices, which will enable it to address all of the recommendations made by the Ombudsman, whose report will have led to the improvement of certain measures identified in the action plan.
Recognizing the importance of the work done by legal representatives who take care of a loved one, the Curateur public's action plan aims to facilitate their efforts, while ensuring adequate supervision of the management of their assets.
