Applying commercial pesticides

General rules

The use of these pesticides, which are intended for use in agriculture, forestry and other commercial activities, is governed by laws and regulations.

Childcare centres and schools

Additional precautions are required in childcare centres and schools to protect children from the harmful effects of pesticides.

Controlling biting or stinging insects

Before applying a pesticide to address a nuisance problem, a municipality or other proponent must obtain the necessary authorizations.

Pesticide application on green spaces, golf courses and for pest management

Pesticides used in these sectors are for commercial use and applied by companies holding a permit.

Forests, transport corridors, dikes and dams

Some pesticides are applied to control pests in forests or vegetation along transport corridors.
