Assessing your oral and written comprehension skills
This online self-assessment tool allows you to test your oral and written comprehension skills in French. Your results are displayed on your screen after each test. These results are based on the Échelle québécoise des niveaux de compétence en français (Québec scale of French proficiency levels), but are not official. They are intended to help you choose a learning program.
A free French learning service for beginners is available at: francais-enligne.quebec. To access it, create an account using an email address and a password.
This platform will allow you to discover the language at your own pace and autonomously. Three modules, totaling around 70hours of learning, address real-life situations such as greeting people, introducing yourself, asking for information and looking for and applying for a job. The experience is enriched with videos and animations, an audiovisual glossary and exercises to practise pronunciation as well as oral and written comprehension, with feedback. In addition, downloadable documents offer summaries of the grammatical concepts covered, along with useful model sentences.
