- Plan, direct, and evaluate the activities of a police service or a police service division.
- Establish and implement police service policies and procedures.
- Monitor police investigations and ensure that procedures are followed according to laws and regulations.
- Evaluate the performance of subordinates and assign promotions and transfers.
- Apply disciplinary measures as required.
