Job description

These individuals greet and walk customers to tables. They coordinate the activities of the food and beverage servers. They work in:

  • Restaurants
  • Hotel dining rooms

  • Resorts

Main tasks

  • Record customer reservations and assign tables to them.
  • Greet customers and walk them to their table or a waiting area.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction and deal with complaints.
  • Inspect the dining room, service areas, and equipment.
  • Provide service assistance during peak periods.
  • Collect food and beverage receipts and store receipts in a safe place.
