Job description
These individuals manufacture, modify, test, and assemble the parts that make up die-making tools. These tools are used to transform metal parts. They work in workshops and manufacturing and machining plants.

Main tasks
- Manufacture the components required to create the parts.
- Work with conventional or numerically controlled machining tools and measuring instruments.
- Draw and produce parts to test the new die-making tools.
- Interpret plans and drawings of parts to be manufactured.
- Ensure the quality of manufactured parts.
- Maintain and grind die-making tools.
- Supervise toolmaking operations.
- Find solutions to technical problems.
- Assume full responsibility for the manufacture of the press tool.
- Provide advice, test, and act as a resource person.
Advancement and mobility
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
Training and requirements
Formation
Most training programs are offered in French only.
