Tank and Boiler Assemblers

Job description

These individuals assemble parts that make up boilers, tanks, and related equipment. They handle and hold in position by thermal (pointing) or mechanical (bolting) processes steel components that are then welded. They work in factories for manufacturers of boilers, heat exchangers, and heavy metal tanks.

Main tasks

  • Interpret plans and drawings.
  • Determine the assembly logic to be followed.
  • Accurately draw reference marks and reference points on parts.
  • Bolt the workpieces together using an appropriate tightening sequence.
  • Move the parts safely.
  • Select tools and handling accessories according to the work to be done.
  • Make calculations and measurements.
  • Design and use assembly jigs.
  • Assemble parts by thermal or mechanical means.
