Job description

These individuals collect and deliver various products. They drive cars, vans, and light trucks. They are self-employed or work for:

  • Dairies
  • Pharmacies

  • Fast food establishments
  • Dry cleaning companies
  • Mobile canteens
  • Messenger services

Main tasks

  • Inspect the vehicle before and after the trip.
  • Plan delivery schedules and routes.
  • Load and unload cargo, goods, or merchandise.
  • Provide customer service at the time of sale or delivery.
  • Record various information (pick-ups and deliveries, vehicle mileage, cost of gas, etc.).
  • Report any incidents encountered.
  • Sort goods and cargo for delivery, as required.
  • Assemble, install, or mount the goods or cargo for delivery, as required.
  • Collaborate with central dispatch.

  • Experience leads to supervisory, training or dispatching positions.
