Job description

These individuals supervise and coordinate personnel who process and manufacture wood and paper. They work in:

  • Pulp and paper mills
  • Sawmills
  • Wood treatment plants and planing mills
  • Particleboard manufacturing plants

Main tasks

  • Supervise and plan the activities of workers who operate wood and paper products processing machines.
  • Ensure the proper operation of systems and equipment.
  • Ensure the maintenance and repair of the machines.
  • Establish work methods to meet deadlines and coordinate work with other sections.
  • Order equipment and supplies.
  • Resolve work-related problems and recommend measures to increase productivity.
  • Manage staff and ensure their training.
  • Ensure compliance with occupational safety standards.
  • Draft reports.
