Industrial Production Painters

Job description

These individuals apply liquid or powder coatings (e.g. paint) to parts and products manufactured in factories. They work for:

Workshops specialized in the application of liquid or powder coatings
Precision sheet metal manufacturers
Manufacturers of machinery, aerospace products, and industrial equipment

Environment

Controlled ambient temperature
Equipment, machinery, tools
Hazardous chemical
Odours
Fire, steam, hot surfaces

Main tasks

Select the appropriate paint or paint mixture for the work to be done.
Prepare the objects to be painted or covered, remove rust, and fill the hollows.
Use hand guns to paint objects attached to or moving on a conveyor.
Paint small objects and do touch-ups with a brush.
Clean and maintain equipment.
Prepare and apply stencils and layers on finished products.

Advancement and mobility

Experience leads to supervisory positions.
