Job description
These individuals design, make, and repair all types of dentures and braces. They work in dental laboratories. This group includes Dental Laboratory Managers.

Main tasks
- Design, make, or repair dentures and braces.
- Apply manufacturing processes in fixed, removable, orthodontic, and implant-supported dentures:
- Prepare plasters and moulds from dental impressions.
- Cast gold or metal alloys for bridges and denture bases.
- Dab plastics into moulds to form prostheses.
- Cast wax on plates to form the contour of artificial gums.
- Make orthodontic braces.
- Finalize the metal frame of prostheses and polish them.
- Discuss problem cases with dentists or other specialists.
- Train and supervise other technicians or auxiliaries.
- Apply computer-aided design protocols.
- Advise the dentist, denturist, or physician in the technical choices of particular cases.
