Job description
These individuals build, install, and repair structures made of various materials (wood, steel, etc.).

Main tasks
- Study plans to determine the technical specifications of the structures to be built and calculate the necessary materials.
- Ensure compliance with applicable building codes.
- Erect foundations.
- Install floor beams and lay flooring support.
- Erect pre-assembled framing and roofing components.
- Adjust and install carpentry elements (doors, stairs, etc.).
- Maintain and renovate wooden buildings.
- Supervise personnel.
- Produce evaluative estimates, as required.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified Carpenters obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
