These individuals install and repair industrial machinery. They also work on mechanical equipment and textile manufacturing machinery.

Main tasks
- Read blueprints, diagrams, and schemas.
- Install stationary industrial machinery or mechanical equipment (pumps, fans, tanks, etc.).
- Set up machines and parts.
- Install and maintain power transmission systems and programmable controllers.
- Assemble and adjust machinery and equipment.
- Inspect machinery, repair faults, and replace defective parts.
- Manufacture the parts necessary for machine maintenance.
- Clean, lubricate, and perform routine maintenance of machinery.
- Direct personnel.

- Qualified Construction Millwrights and Industrial Mechanics obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
