These individuals supervise and coordinate personnel working in the mining industry. They are employed in quarries and mineral and ore mines.

Main tasks
- Supervise and coordinate personnel who extract minerals and ores.
- Supervise and coordinate heavy equipment operators, drillers, and blasters.
- Establish work methods to meet deadlines and coordinate work with other sections.
- Order materials and supplies.
- Resolve work problems and recommend actions to increase productivity.
- Manage staff and ensure their training.
- Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards.
- Draft reports.

- There is mobility between different positions, especially for supervisors with post-secondary degrees.
- Mobility between the open pit and underground mining sectors may be limited by differences in production techniques and licensing requirements.
