Job description

These individuals use equipment designed to apply treatments (metallization, anodizing, etc.) to the surface of products.

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature
  • Equipment, machinery, tools
  • Hazardous chemical
  • Odours
  • Fire, steam, hot surfaces

Main tasks

  • Clean and maintain equipment and machinery.
  • Use appropriate machinery and equipment to process parts according to job specifications.
  • Control equipment parameters (angle, flow, speed, etc.) to achieve the desired result.
  • Inspect the parts to ensure the quality of the work.
  • Detect problems and implement solutions.
  • Fill out production forms.

Advancement and mobility

  • Experience leads to supervisory positions.

Training and requirements

Formation

Most training programs are offered in French only.

DVS in traitement de surface
Code : 5222

Sometimes required

  • Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate may be required or an asset.
