You can report a situation to the DYP 24 hours a day, 7 days a week by telephone or in writing. Information on how to contact the DYP in each region of Québec is given in the Contact Informations of the DYP page.
The YPA protects the act of making a report. Section 44 of the Act stipulates that no one may disclose or be compelled to disclose the identity of a person who has reported a situation. Anyone who chooses to identify themselves can be certain that their identity will not be disclosed without their consent.
The YPA also stipulates that no one may be prosecuted for providing information in good faith when reporting a situation (YPA, s. 43).
