Obtaining a Special Benefit for Dental Care and Prostheses Under a Social Assistance Program
To receive free dental care, you must have been receiving benefits under a social assistance program for at least 12 months.
To be eligible for payment of your dental prostheses, you must have been receiving benefits under a social assistance program for at least 24 months.
The social assistance programs are as follows:
- Social Assistance Program
- Social Solidarity Program
- Aim for Employment Program
- Basic Income Program
Dental Care
You must present your claim slip to your dentist to receive this benefit.
The word “YES” must appear in the “Dental Care” box on your claim slip. If it does not, the date on which you will be eligible to receive this care free of charge is indicated.
Eligible dental care expenses are paid directly to the dentist by the Régie de l’assurance maladie du Québec (RAMQ).
Dental Prostheses
Before going to the dentist or denturist, you will need a form completed by an officer at one of the following locations:
This form authorizes the purchase, replacement or relining of dental prostheses under certain conditions set by the RAMQ.
Eligible expenses for the purchase or replacement of dental prostheses are paid directly to the dentist or denturist by the RAMQ.
