Québec Breast Cancer Screening Program
Eligibility
The PQDCS is specifically aimed at women who are:
- Between the ages of 50 and 74
- Covered by Québec’s public health insurance plan
Women who have already had breast cancer are not eligible for the PQDCS. These women must have personalized medical care that is adapted to their situation.
Women who are under 50 and over 74 must talk to their doctors about the advantages and disadvantages of screening mammography. Depending on their personal risk for breast cancer, the doctor can prescribe a mammogram or another appropriate medical exam.
