About the Québec Breast Cancer Screening Program
Women aged 70 to 74 years can from now on participate in the Québec Breast Cancer Screening Program (PQDCS).
The Ministère de la Santé et des Services sociaux launched the Québec Breast Cancer Screening Program (PQDCS) in May 1998.
The PQDCS invites women aged 50 to 74 to have a mammogram every 2 years. A mammogram is the only screening exam that can reduce the number of deaths from breast cancer.
The PQDCS’s objective is to reduce breast cancer deaths in women between the ages of 50 and 74 by 25 %. Results obtained since the beginning of the PQDCS are positive and justify continuing the Program.
Voluntary participation
