Éconologis—Free energy efficiency services for your home
The Éconologis program helps low-income households improve the comfort and energy efficiency of their homes during the winter.
Éconologis gives you free access to:
personalized advice on how to reduce your energy consumption;
light work to improve the comfort of your home.

Eligibility requirements
You can be an owner or a tenant. You can register for Éconologis no matter what form of energy you use to heat your home (electricity, wood, etc.).
The total income of all the occupants of your home (adults and children) must not exceed the qualifying income thresholds.

Program re-registration
You are not eligible for the Éconologis program if you have already taken advantage of this program within the last five years.
If you’ve moved, you may be eligible for the Éconologis program for your new home if you have not been registered for the program in the last three years.

Services offered
The services offered by the Éconologis program will improve the comfort of your home during the winter and help you stay warm.
They will help you better manage your energy consumption and reduce your environmental footprint.
Visit from an energy efficiency advisor
An Éconologis energy efficiency advisor will visit you at home. Here is how the visit will unfold:
The energy efficiency advisor will work with you to evaluate your home.
He or she will give you practical tips on how to save energy used for:
Heating
Hot water
Household appliances
Lighting, etc.
Depending on the needs identified, the advisor will do light work free of charge, such as:
Caulking windows
Installing weatherstripping at the bottom of doors
Insulating electrical outlets on outside walls
Installing low-flow showerheads
Installing aerators on water taps
Annual installation of insulating plastic film
If you receive a disability benefit from the federal government and are eligible for the Éconologis program, you may also be eligible for the annual installation of plastic insulating film on your windows.
Discuss this with your advisor during his or her visit.
Registering for Éconologis
From October 1 to March 31, appointments are generally offered within two weeks.
From April 1 to September 30, your appointment request will be added to our waiting list. You will be contacted in September in order of priority based on the date your request was received.
To constantly improve the quality of our services, we attach great importance to participants’ comments, suggestions and complaints.
If you are not satisfied with the services you received, we invite you to first contact the Éconologis program team. You can share your feedback or express your concerns by email at: econologis@environnement.gouv.qc.ca
If you are not satisfied with this first step, you can file a complaint with the Bureau de la transition climatique et énergétique, part of the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs.
Complaints are processed within 20working days.
If, despite the intervention of the Bureau de la transition climatique et énergétique, you still believe you have been wronged by a decision or omission, you may submit a complaint for processing at a second instance to the Secrétariat général du ministère de l'Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs Parcs (MELCCFP).
A time frame of 20working days also applies to the processing of these complaints.
About this program
The Éconologis program is administered by the Ministère de l’Environnement, de la Lutte contre les changements climatiques, de la Faune et des Parcs. It is part of the implementation plan for the 2030 Plan for Green Economy.
Since its inception, more than 180,000households have benefited free of charge from the Éconologis program.
The normative framework specifies the terms of the program, the conditions to be met, the eligibility criteria and all the administrative rules that apply. Its contents have legal value and prevail over all other documents and information published about the Éconologis program.
