Probating the will

Holograph wills and wills made in the presence of witnesses must be probated after the testator dies. Notarial wills do not need to be probated.

Consulting a will

Holograph wills or wills made before witnesses become “usable” after they are probated. They can then be consulted.

Liquidator

The liquidator, previously known as the testamentary executor, is the person responsible for settling the succession.
