Dear colleagues, entrepreneurs and partners:

I have had quite the honour to be chosen and posted as the new Delegate in Chicago, by the Québec Government, last December. After having served as assistant Deputy Minister for Québec’s Ministry of Economy and Innovation since 2015, I will now have the real privilege to strengthen the economic and cultural ties between the Midwestern states and Quebec.

The Midwest shares numerous economic partnerships with the province of Québec. In 2021, Québec businesses have exported more than $12 billion in products and services to the Midwest, which in return exported $6.5 billion to Québec, making the Midwest the primary exporter to Québec among all United States regions.

That said, we are important customers and suppliers at the same time, our businesses are investing in both territories with confidence, and so do our talents and researchers in various sectors. We are both engaged in innovation and coming out of this pandemic to provide challenging avenues of growth and prosperity for us all. We also know that a seamless involvement in our shared assets of the Great Lakes and the Saint-Lawrence region is beneficial in the long run for our economies, competitiveness, and quality of life.

It is therefore one of my priorities to engage in mutually beneficial actions for both parties by building on the achievements of my predecessors to ensure economic growth on both sides of the border.

I am looking forward to meeting with many of you in person in the coming months, and I am proud to be joining the Québec Government Office’s skilled and experienced team in Chicago.

Very sincerely,

Mario W. Limoges
Québec Government Delegate in Chicago Midwest
