COVID-19 Pandemic - The government presents its daily update

QUÉBEC CITY, April 5, 2023 /CNW/ - On April 6, the MSSS will release its last press release presenting the data on the COVID-19 pandemic. However, the data will remain available on Québec.ca , the open data website of the gouvernement du Québec  or the INSPQ website .

The most recent data on the evolution of COVID-19, in the last 24 hours, in Québec show:

• 439 new cases, bringing the total number of people infected to 1,330,427*;
• 5 new deaths, for a total of 18,324 deaths;
• 0 deaths in the last 24 hours,
• 1 death that occurred between two and seven days ago,
• 4 deaths that occurred more than seven days ago;

NOTE: As death removals are not shown in the data above, the number of death additions may exceed the number of new deaths for the day.

• 1,590 health care workers absent for COVID-related reasons (preventive withdrawal, isolation, awaiting results, etc.);
• 1,144 hospitalizations, including 391 due to COVID-19, for a decrease of 23;
• 227 new entries,
• 250 new discharges;
• 39 people in intensive care, including 23 due to COVID-19, for an increase of 10;
• 19 new entries,
• 9 new discharges;
• 6,713 samples conducted on April 3;
• 327,145 self-declared rapid tests so far, including 276,189 positive: 42 declared for yesterday, including 37 positive.

*Note that the number of cases listed is not representative of the situation since access to screening centres is restricted to priority clienteles.

Vaccination

• 2 348 doses administered are added, for a cumulative total of 23,002,403 doses received by Quebecers.

To limit the spread of the coronavirus as much as possible, it is important to follow basic preventive measures such as hand washing, physical distancing, wearing a face covering and following the instructions in effect.
