Licences and certificate
Sharing your licence in a wildlife reserve
Changes to the random draw terms and conditions by zone
The random draw for the moose without antlers hunting licence will be gradually introduced in certain targeted hunting zones, while, in other zones, the terms and conditions currently in effect will continue to apply. The list of the zones concerned will be put online at the beginning of 2026.
If you obtain, through a random draw, a moose without antlers hunting licence for a wildlife reserve, you may form a group of up to eight hunters to share it. You must then agree on a commitment that will allow one hunter in the group to use the special licence in the wildlife reserve concerned.
The holder of a moose without antlers hunting licence may decide whether or not to share their licence with the other hunters in their group when entering the territory.

Procedure and conditions to be met
To use this measure, you must comply with the following conditions.
Complete the commitment form
When you enter the wildlife reserve, your group of hunters must give the attendant at the reception post a completed copy of an engagement form (PDF 40 KB). This document identifies the members who are using one member’s moose without antlers hunting licence.
The form includes:
- the licence holder’s name, their regular moose hunting licence number and their moose without antlers hunting licence number;
- the purpose and duration of the commitment;
- the name of the wildlife reserve;
- the date of the commitment;
- the names and signatures of the hunters who may use this moose without antlers hunting licence and their regular moose hunting licence numbers.
Respect the duration of the commitment
The duration of the commitment may not exceed the length of your group’s stay in the wildlife reserve. All hunters listed on the commitment form and holding a valid hunting licence may, for the duration indicated, use the moose without antlers hunting licence in the wildlife reserve concerned. They may use the moose without antlers hunting licence as long as the licence holder is present on the territory and until a moose without antlers is harvested by one of them.
Respect the licence expiry date
The moose without antlers hunting licence expires as soon as the moose without antlers is harvested. The hunter who harvested it must immediately affix their own unique transportation coupon number to the animal. They must notify the holder of the licence obtained through the random draw under which the moose without antlers was harvested. They must also ensure that any additional unique transportation coupon numbers are affixed.
If a member of the group harvests a moose with antlers instead of a moose without antlers, the other members of the group may continue the activity, including hunting moose without antlers, provided the group harvest limit has not been reached. The moose without antlers hunting licence remains valid for the duration of the authorization, as long as the licence holder is present on the territory.
Registering your game
At the time of registration, the hunter who harvested the moose without antlers must present their regular licence and the moose without antlers hunting licence under which the animal was harvested.
Members of your group are responsible for respecting the number of animals they may harvest. To avoid multiple harvests, hunt close enough to one another to be able to communicate.
