Annual exploration work planning

Prior to undertaking any work, the holder of an exclusive exploration right (EER) must provide an annual planning to the local municipality and, as applicable, the affected Indigenous nation or community located in the region of the land that is subject to a mining right.

Procedure

This planning must be communicated at least 30 days prior to the start of any exploration work, including airborne geophysical surveys.

Here is the procedure:

  1. Complete the annual work planning form (DOCX 57 Kb).
  2. Prepare a map of the property, including the location of the planned work, as well as a shapefile containing the site’s exclusive exploration rights’ numbers and the location of the planned work.
  3. Send all required documents by email to pat@mrnf.gouv.qc.ca.
  4. Post the annual exploration work planning on the exclusive exploration rights holder’s website.

This obligation must be carried out every year, as long as the work continues.

Information session and summary

At the request of the representative of the local municipality or Indigenous community concerned, the holder of exclusive exploration rights must hold an information session on the annual work planning.

The summary of this information session must be prepared using the template (DOCX 55 Kb) and published on the rights holder’s website.
