The results displayed depend on the type of search made.
When you search for an enterprise using a file number, you have access to the enterprise's information status, which appears immediately on screen.
When you search for an enterprise using a name, the results display several enterprises according to the following criteria:
Name: the name of the enterprise
Enterprise number: the enterprise's NEQ
Status of the enterprise: registration status (registered or unregistered, deleted registration, cancelled registration or registration cancelled on request)
Date of status update: date of the last change declared in the enterprise’s file
Status of the name: status of the enterprise’s name (current or previous)
Start date of the name: the initial date on which the name was registered in the file
End date of name: the date the name was no longer in use
Description of the information for a file contained in the FCE
The following information appears in the file of an enterprise registered with the FCE:
Nom de l’entreprise inscrit au fichier central des entreprises le 31 décembre 1993
Noms antérieurs
Adresse physique de l’entreprise (siège)
Autres noms utilisés (noms d’emprunt, marques de commerce, etc.) inscrits au fichier central le 31 décembre 1993
Groupe juridique
État juridique en vigueur au moment de l’archivage au fichier central des entreprises
Date de l’état juridique
Date de constitution
Nature des activités
Établissements au Québec
Personnes liées à l’entreprise, notamment les administrateurs, les principaux actionnaires et les dirigeants

History of the FCE
The FCE is a database created in 1973. This database contains the annual reports, incorporation or amendment documents and other microfilmed documents that were on file with the company before 1994. This file has been replaced by the Enterprise Register.
