Obtaining a refund for French courses taken in a partner language school for immigrants selected by Québec
You may be eligible under certain conditions to receive reimbursement from the Québec government for the fees related to French courses taken at a partner language school. The maximum reimbursement granted is CAN$1 800.
You will need to prepare your claim in your home country, but you will officially file it when you settle in Québec.
Reimbursement is only for group courses, either in-class or through distance learning.

Conditions for obtaining reimbursement
You can apply for reimbursement for more than one course. To be reimbursed, you must meet all of the following conditions for each course:
You have taken and completed your course abroad:
During the three years prior to obtaining your Québec Selection Certificate (CSQ) or your first Québec Acceptance Certificate (CAQ), or
Between the time you obtained your CSQ or your first CAQ and your arrival in Québec;
You were at least 16years old when you registered for the course.
You are living in Québec at the time of filing your application for reimbursement.
Reimbursement for spouse and children
Your spouse or dependent child aged 16 or over may also be reimbursed, under the same conditions, for courses taken at a partner language school upon arrival in Québec. To do so, you must hold a CSQ or your first CAQ.
How to apply for reimbursement
The application is done in two steps: first in your country of origin and then once you are settled in Québec.
Ask an authorized person from the language school to:
complete sections 2, 3 and 4 of the reimbursement form
sign the form and affix the institution’s seal
provide, for each of the French courses you have taken:
certificate of studies proving you have taken the entire course,
the course transcript,
the receipt proving you have paid the course fees.
Keep the form completed by the language school. You will need to send this copy to obtain your reimbursement once you settle in Québec.
Once you settle in Québec:
Complete section1 of the form.
Attach the documents requested in the form.
Do not send original documents, unless otherwise specified, as documents will not be returned to you.

You can only make one application for reimbursement for each person.
You must do so within 2years of your arrival in Québec.
Once your application has been sent
If your application for reimbursement is complete, you will receive your reimbursement within 2months.
