Main tasks

  • Develop job classifications and descriptions, salary scales, and evaluation measures.
  • Provide advice on labour relations issues.
  • Plan and coordinate programs (staffing, compensation, training, employee assistance, equity, etc.).
  • Keep human resources information up to date.
  • Stay up dated on benefits, health, and safety practices.
  • Make recommendations on existing policies.
  • Provide information to management and employees on the interpretation of human resource policies.
  • Negotiate collective agreements and mediate labour disputes and grievances.
  • Play a strategic role as a business partner.
  • Participate in the attraction and retention of jobs.
