Job description
These individuals keep the accounting, whether computerized or not, up to date and the records of the accounts of a company, under the supervision of an accountant. They verify the methods used to record financial transactions. They also provide bookkeeping services to individuals.
Environment

Main tasks
- Keep financial records.
- Organize, maintain, and balance various accounts.
- Maintain general ledgers, make journal entries, and reconcile accounts.
- Prepare trial balances of accounts and financial statements.
- Perform calculations and prepare pay cheques and invoices.
- Complete and submit government forms and documents (tax payments, workers’ compensation, pension benefits, etc.).
- Prepare income tax returns and provide bookkeeping services for individuals.
- Prepare statistical, financial and accounting reports.
