Survey Interviewers contact people to gather information. This information is used for:

  • Market research
  • Opinion polls
  • Electoral census
  • Population census

Statistical Clerks code and compile data to draft documents. This group includes clerks who observe and record information about road traffic.

Main tasks

Survey Interviewers

  • Communicate with individuals and explain the purpose of the interview.
  • Ask questions along the lines of questionnaires and surveys.
  • Record responses according to the standards established in the survey.

Statistics Clerks

  • Ensure that the information collected is complete and accurate.
  • Code information according to established coding manuals and enter data into computers.
  • Perform routine statistical analysis.
  • Compile data collected from various sources (e.g. interviews) to draft reports and lists.
