Job description

These individuals provide support and technical services to Scientists or Engineers. They work in various fields (structural engineering, construction, transportation, environment, etc.). They work for:

  • Consulting engineering firms

Environment

Main tasks

  • Develop sketches, specifications, drawings, and plans.
  • Estimate project costs and determine the materials required.
  • Establish work schedules.
  • Draft reports.
  • Supervise or direct surveys, inspections, and studies of topography, water flow, roads, and structures.
  • Inspect and experiment with building materials.
  • Monitor, control, and inspect construction projects.

  • Experience leads to supervisory and management positions.
