Job description
These individuals provide technical services in the design, production, and operation of electrical equipment. They are employed by:

Main tasks
- Participate in the design and adjustment of components, assemblies, equipment, and systems.
- Conduct life cycle testing of components and analyze results.
- Assist in the construction and testing of prototypes.
- Conduct applied research under the direction of Researchers or Engineers.
- Install, operate, and maintain equipment and systems and evaluate the performance of components.
- Calibrate electrical components and instruments according to technical manuals.
- Collect data to assist in the preparation of estimates and reports.

Training and requirements
Formation
Bachelor’s degree or diploma of college studies
Sometimes required
- Knowledge of several PLC programming languages is often required.
