Job description

These individuals process customers’ financial transactions and provide information on banking products and services. They are employed by banks, trust companies, and credit unions.

Main tasks

  • Respond to customer inquiries and solve problems or discrepancies in their accounts.
  • Inform customers about banking products and services available to meet their needs.
  • Cash money, cheques, bill payments, and credit cards.
  • Pay cash and make transfers.
  • Issue money orders and certified cheques.
  • Obtain and record information required for various purposes (opening an account, subscribing to savings plans, purchasing bonds, etc.).
  • Sell traveller’s cheques, foreign currency, or bank money orders.
