Main tasks
- Plan, organize, run, and control nursery and greenhouse activities.
- Identify the environmental conditions required to grow plants.
- Develop planting and tending schedules and determine the type and quantity of produce to be grown.
- Hire, train, manage, and supervise staff and set work schedules.
- Identify and control insects, diseases, and weeds.
- Develop marketing plans.
- Educate clients on gardening techniques and lawn and plant care.
- Order nursery and greenhouse equipment, products, and accessories.
- Maintain inventory and financial records.
