Textile Product Preparation Machine Operators

Job description

These individuals operate machines used to prepare textile fibres. Using these machines, they spin, twist, bleach, dye, and finish textile products (yarn, thread, fabric, etc.). They are employed in textile manufacturing plants.

Main tasks

  • Operate and feed machines that wash and process wool fibres and yarns.
  • Bleach, dye, prepare, or finishing fabrics, yarns, and threads.
  • Mix dyes or chemicals according to prescribed formulas.
  • Print patterns on textile products.
  • Monitor work areas.
  • Examine finished products for defects and ensure compliance with standards.
  • Investigate the causes of machine breakdowns and report failures.
  • Set up, maintain, and repair machines as required.

Advancement and mobility

  • Experience leads to supervisory positions.
