Job description
Accountants plan, organize, and administer accounting systems.
Professional Accountants Auditors examine and analyze accounting records and financial records. They are self-employed or work for accounting and auditing firms in the public and private sectors.

Main tasks
Accountants
- Design, implement, and administer accounting systems.
- Examine accounting records and prepare financial statements and reports.
- Design and apply calculation methods and internal control procedures.
- Review and analyze financial statements and accounts.
- Prepare income tax returns.
- Provide financial or tax advice.
- Act as liquidator in bankruptcy cases.
- Supervise and train interns or staff.
Chartered Professional Accountant Auditors
- Review and analyze accounting documents (e.g. account books, ledger, statements, inventories, tax returns).
- Verify the accuracy of entries and ensure compliance with established methods and procedures.
- Draft detailed audit reports.
- Make recommendations to improve accounting practices and the financial position of clients.
- Conduct audit engagements in companies to ensure compliance with laws.
- Supervise colleagues or individuals responsible for accounting at clients’ premises.
