Job description
These individuals organize and coordinate various events (congresses, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, fairs, festivals, etc.). They are self-employed or work for:
- Tourist, commercial, and professional associations
- Convention centres
- The government
- Firms specializing in conference and special event planning

Main tasks
- Meet with representatives of trade and professional associations and organizing committees.
- Promote, negotiate, and coordinate services adapted to the scale of the events.
- Plan, implement, monitor, and review budgets and administrative procedures.
- Coordinate participant registration and organize entertainment and social gatherings among them.
- Prepare programming and publicize events.
- Hire, train, and supervise support staff.
- Ensure compliance with applicable municipal by-laws.
- Verify and approve invoices, maintain records, and prepare reports.
