Job description

These individuals organize and coordinate various events (congresses, conferences, meetings, exhibitions, fairs, festivals, etc.). They are self-employed or work for:

  • Tourist, commercial, and professional associations
  • Convention centres
  • The government
  • Firms specializing in conference and special event planning

Environment

  • Controlled ambient temperature

Main tasks

  • Meet with representatives of trade and professional associations and organizing committees.
  • Promote, negotiate, and coordinate services adapted to the scale of the events.
  • Plan, implement, monitor, and review budgets and administrative procedures.
  • Coordinate participant registration and organize entertainment and social gatherings among them.
  • Prepare programming and publicize events.
  • Hire, train, and supervise support staff.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable municipal by-laws.
  • Verify and approve invoices, maintain records, and prepare reports.
