Food Service Supervisors
Job description
These individuals coordinate the activities of the food services staff. They work in:
- Hospitals and other health care facilities
- Cafeterias
- Catering services
- Food service establishments

Main tasks
- Supervise, coordinate, and schedule staff members who prepare, distribute, and serve food.
- Order the ingredients and supplies required to prepare meals as requested by the chef.
- Maintain records of inventory, sales, and losses.
- Train staff on tasks, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Supervise the preparation of trays and the delivery of carts to people.
- Ensure the quality of food and service in accordance with established standards.
- Participate, as required, in the selection of personnel and the development of policies, procedures, and budgets.
- Plan cafeteria menus and calculate food and labour costs as required.
