Service Agents - Road and Sea Transport
Job description
These individuals provide customer service to road and sea passengers. They advise them of fares and rates, make reservations, and issue tickets. They check baggage and process cargo.

Main tasks
Ticketing Agents
- Respond to customer requests and establish travel costs.
- Help people plan their schedules and itineraries.
- Book seats for customers, companies, and travel agencies.
- Issue tickets, collect payments, and check baggage.
- Receive and record package tour reservations from travel agencies.
- Provide information on available seats.
Cargo Customer Service Representatives
- Establish the price and rate of freight (cargo).
- Assess shipment cost, including service and insurance charges.
- Prepare and keep shipping labels.
- Check in passenger baggage and sort it for loading by baggage handlers.
- Load baggage onto buses, railcars, or cruise ships as required.
- Find lost or misplaced cargo or baggage.

- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
