Job description
These individuals clean and maintain buildings, establishments, properties, and surrounding grounds. Some also keep buildings in good working order.

Main tasks
- Remove dust, dirt, and rubbish.
- Wash windows, ceilings, and interior walls.
- Empty trash cans and other garbage containers.
- Sweep, wipe, scrub, and wax hallways, floors, and stairs.
- Plow and de-ice sidewalks and parking lots.
- Mow the lawn, maintain the grounds, and take care of the plants.
- Clean and disinfect bathrooms and fixtures.
- Adjust heating, cooling, ventilation, and plumbing systems.
- Make minor repairs and contact specialists when major repairs need to be made.
- Perform other routine maintenance work (e.g. paint).
