Job description
These individuals maintain, test, and repair various devices (electric motors, transformers, switchgear, etc.).

Main tasks
- Observe electromechanical components and systems to locate and repair faults.
- Replace or refurbish components.
- Solder and braze electrical connections.
- Repair or replace defective wiring or components.
- Test repaired electrical devices to ensure performance.
- Perform machining operations to refurbish or modify parts.
- Perform onsite maintenance and repairs.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified Electrical Mechanics obtain a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
- These individuals may specialize in certain types of devices (electric motors, transformers, etc.) or in particular functions.
- Experience lead to supervisory positions.
