Roofers and Shinglers
Job description
These individuals install, repair, or replace flat roofs. They do the same with shingles, tiles, and overlaps for pitched roofs.

Main tasks
Roofers
- Erect scaffolding.
- Install, repair, or replace roofing systems.
- Install rainwater collection ducts (gutters).
- Apply water-repellent coatings on concrete.
- Estimate the cost of necessary materials, as required.
- Provide estimates.
Shinglers
- Erect scaffolding.
- Lay or replace shingles and tiles on sloped building roofs.
Advancement and mobility
- Qualified Roofers receive a Red Seal endorsement upon successful completion of the Interprovincial Examination.
- Experience leads to supervisory positions.
Hourly wage
The hourly wage is calculated by averaging wages from 2020 to 2022.- Minimum
